At Homeworks Construction, we strive to bring you the best design-build services on Oahu at the most affordable price. After 30 years building homes on Oahu and 750+ projects completed, we pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, service,  and knowledge. Homeworks Construction builds and designs custom homes and offer renovation and remodeling services to homeowners on Oahu. We meet the needs of our clients through exceptional service, high-quality products, and a deep understanding of the homebuilding and construction process in Hawaii.

Homeworks’ design staff can work with your existing architectural drawings or create custom designs for your new home, renovation, addition, or ADU. We are certified aging-in-place specialists (CAPS), are certified green builders, and have experience with multi-family homes and historical renovation projects. Homeworks Construction can handle projects at all price points, big and small. From single-family and multi-family home projects to bathroom remodels, kitchen renovations, or completing a home addition, we provide comprehensive design and construction services.

Homeworks Construction have a full, in-house architectural staff. We have an architect and several draftsman on our team to design and build your home project all in one place. Visit our sample showroom, ask questions, and see your plans come to life with modern construction rendering technology. Our team manages plan development and drafting form start to finish. Homeworks has the expertise and agility to create the design you want and adapt when needed. We provide budget and design guidance followed by exceptional communication, project management, and first-class craftsmanship and building products.

 

The Build Process

Planning

Our project coordinators work directly with you to develop a comprehensive scope of work and finish specifications to fit both your vision and budget. These elements are all included in our Free Consultation. We offer expert advice and answer questions for Oahu homeowners.

Design

With an architect-led team, we regularly build custom-designed homes, additions, and renovations. Our construction plans are created with the look and feel you’re after, incorporating our expertise with your personal style.

Construction

Using only the best craftsmen and construction professionals in the industry, we build your project from concept and design. From first nail to first mail, your project manager oversees all aspects of building and communication. We are committed to using only the best building products for our clients.

Completion

Once construction is complete, we conduct a final review and walkthrough with you. We work to ensure all deliverables are in place and the work has been completed to the highest standards.

 

Giving Back to the Community

Beyond building quality homes, our company (led by owners Marshall Hickox, Sylvio Boucher, Jim Byxbee, and Vice-President Wendy Wei) is committed to giving back to the community through outreach programs and educational seminars.

Each month, our company holds free seminars in our showroom, focusing on industry topics and trends in Hawaii. Marshall Hickox can be found at the annual BIA Home and Renovation shows, offering free kitchen and bath forums. We’ve also been honored to work with closely with Honolulu Habitat for Humanity, developing the “Doors To New Beginnings” program, donating front doors and acting as project managers for homes built by the organization and its volunteers for qualified families.

On staff, we have certified green professionals, aging-in-place specialists, historical preservation professionals, architects, and even a certified scuba instructor! Homeworks is a design-build company and in order to provide our customers with the most comprehensive and modern service, we study and learn. Our Construction Team

Marshall Hickox

President, Owner and RME 


Marshall received his B.S. in Building Materials and Wood Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

He is a licensed general contractor in the State of Hawaii with 20+ years of building experience with 5+ years of government contracting experience. He has received awards from the National Kitchen and Bath Association Aloha Chapter and has been named one of the Top 40 Business Leaders under 40 by Pacific Business News.

Marshall has served on the BIA-Hawaii Board of Directors and led efforts in government relations; serving as the organization’s President in 2018. Marshall has also served on BIA-Hawaii’s Home Building & Remodeling Show, Renaissance Award, and Remodel it Right committees. He is certified by the National Association of Homebuilders as a Build Green Professional and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. Frequently speaking at educational seminars for Hawaii homeowners on topics related to new home construction, design-build on Oahu, and remodeling.

Sylvio Boucher

President, Owner, and Field Operations Officer


With more than 35 years of construction experience, Sylvio provides leadership across Homeworks Construction’s new build and renovation projects.

He is a licensed general contractor in Quebec and Hawaii. Sylvio has Journeyman status as a carpenter, heavy equipment operator and steel worker. Mr. Boucher owned and ran Atlier Architectural de Beauce Inc. in Quebec, Canada from 1983 to 1996, specializing in custom historical renovation. His experience in historical renovation and rehabilitation is unique in Hawaii. Sylvio also serves on the BIA-Hawaii Board of Directors, providing industry leadership.

He is a firm supporter of the community and managed Homeworks Construction’s contributions to the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity homebuilding projects in 2009.  He personally assisted in building two homes and managed additional supply and labor donations to the project on Homeworks behalf.

Wendy Wei

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer


Wendy joined the Homeworks team in 2006. She brings an acute understanding of financial management and contributes to the team in a number of ways. She believes in respect for clients and colleagues alike and hopes to build her own dream house with a wall filled with wonderful abstract art. She believes, “Where there is a will, there’s a way”.

Marc Dawson

Senior Project Manager


Marc has played an essential role at Homeworks for more than 20 years. His solutions-based approach to construction is positive and lends itself to great outcomes for the client. He believes that, “there aren’t any problems, only solutions” and through this mantra he has become a broker of great ideas and fantastic work. Marc absolutely loves to make clients happy and to help make their dream homes real. He can be found on Homeworks project sites across Oahu.

Laurent Chouari

Designer


Laurent has been part of the Homeworks team since 2019 and is an essential part of of the “Design” part of the Design+Build company. He assists clients through drawing and creating plans that successfully translate a homeowner’s wants and needs into a tangible plan. Utilizing his years of experience in the industry on projects ranging from luxury to modest, he approaches all projects with care and creativity.

Heather Hickox

Project Developer


Heather has been a part of the Homeworks team for 23 years and she absolutely thrives on the opportunity to translate the wants and needs of homeowners into reality. Heather and her mom started a painting business when she was 12 years old and the passion for construction continues to burn strong. She has extensive experience with all aspects of construction and brings a forensic approach to every project. Heather works with clients from the very beginning of the homebuilding process to establish both a design and budget. “Knowing that I am part of something that makes home life better for people and that I can make someone’s dreams come true,” are Heather’s favorite parts of her job.

Elyse Grable

Selections Specialist


Elyse has been with Homeworks for more than 10 years and assists homeowners with exterior and interior finishes. From roof and gutters to paint and fixtures, Elyse helps clients pull the overall look together within the budget. She has extensive experience with luxury interior design and architecture, but appreciates the personal relationships that she establishes with homeowners at Homeworks. Elyse is an active listener who loves to provide clients with the support that allows them to realize their dreams. Her knowledge of products and positive attitude make Elyse exceptional.

Erin Naughton

Project Coordinator


Erin joined the Homeworks team in 2023 and serves as the primary point of contact for Homeworks clients. She believes that planning and a proactive approach leads to excellence on any project. Erin’s attention to detail and passion for spreadsheets makes her an asset to any homeowner during the homebuilding or renovation process. She understands that no two homeowners are the same and listening is the most important action you can take for a client. She feels right at home with Homeworks and hopes her clients do too.

Richard Church

Project Manager


Richard joined the Homeworks team back in 2003 and serves as a Project Manager. He helps clients bring their project from concept and paper to life and enjoys every minute of it. He approaches every job with the motto: Nothing is impossible – impossible just takes longer. This can-do way of looking at projects and life is something that he learned frmo his grandfather. When he isn’t bringing someone’s dream home to life, he’s listening to 80’s rock while fishing, camping, or sitting at the beach.

Anna Wynn

Principal Architectural Drafter


Anna has been part of the Homeworks ohana for more than 13 years as a draftsperson and production manager of construction document. Her love and dedication to architecture is rooted in her appreciation of fine art and detail. For Anna, Architecture is the highest form of art and she approaches each project as a story that should be told as clearly and as accurately as possible. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to tell this story in a way that is understood by both layman and builder. Anna’s organization and detailing skills are unmatched and she epitomizes what is possible when art and science are blended in equal measure. She is an incredible asset to our team and takes pride in helping Homeworks build beautiful and functional custom homes.

Taylor Hopkins

Architectural Drafter


Taylor joined the Homeworks architectural team in 2024 and brings a commitment to interpersonal relationships to everything that he does. His mantra is, “Dream Work Makes the Team Work” and he carries this into everything that he does, approaching his work collaboratively with co-workers and clients alike. He believes that each home is a unique offering – and that designing homes allows allows him to improve the lives of individuals and families by adding comfort, safety, and contributing to an overall sense of well-being. He believes that great designs enhance the characteristics of the environment and local environment. He also hasn’t shed any tears over the disappearance of popcorn ceilings.

Michele D’Amico

Principal Architect


Michele joined Homeworks as the Principal Architect in 2015 and for nearly a decade, applying her keen eye, talent, and skills to the design and drafting department. Essential to every custom project that we build, designs are the foundation for our work and she plays an essential role in translating words and inspiration into an actual home. She found inspiration watching her own father build the family home when she was only three years old. This essentially laid an early foundation for her professional drive and commitment to homebuilding.
